Get Your Hands Dirty-How To Become A Real Estate Broker Without Experience

Once you’ve got some knowledge in your pocket, it’s time to dive into the real world. You’ll start as a real estate agent. This means taking a few more classes and passing a test to get your license. Then, find a workplace where you can see real estate action up close. Pay attention to everything because this is where you learn the tricks of the trade.

Never Stop Learning

While you’re gaining experience, don’t stop learning. Special courses are available for those who want to advance to a broker, like the boss level in real estate. These classes will make you even smarter about running the show.

Make Friends and Find Mentors

You know what they say: it’s not just what you know, but who you know. Making friends in real estate can help you a lot. Look for someone who’s been in the game for a long time and can guide you. They can offer priceless advice and maybe even open doors for you. You can become a real estate apprentice.

Get Your Boss License

After working as an agent and taking all the suitable courses, you can apply to be a broker. This means another test, but by now, you’ve got this! Passing this test is your ticket to being the boss.

Dream Up Your Business

With that broker license, you’re ready to start your own business. This is the exciting part: You decide whether you want to work solo, start a brokerage, or team up with a bigger brand. Think about what makes you unique and how you can stand out.

Stand Out from the Crowd

Speaking of standing out, think about what makes you different. Maybe you’re a tech whiz or know a lot about a specific area. Use what makes you unique to grab people’s attention.

Keep Growing and Adapting

The real estate world changes constantly. To stay on top, you must keep learning about the latest trends and tools. This might mean going to workshops or just reading up on new ideas.

Show Off Online

Nowadays, being online is a must. Make sure you have a cool website and are active on social media. This is how you’ll meet many clients, so make your online space welcoming and exciting.

Wrapping It Up

How to become a real estate broker without experience? Starting from zero and becoming a real estate boss might seem tough, but it’s definitely within your reach. Embrace Your Personality

As a real estate professional, embrace your true personality.

When many people start a career in real estate or another professional job, they think they have to be stuffy—to present themselves stiffly in a way that their clients and communities will want to see. However, I don’t think that should be the case.

As with many professions, I think you should know your personality and be authentic in real estate. One way to get in touch with your personality is to visit the DISC personality-type website. There, you can take a five-minute test that will give you insight into the different aspects of your personality.

You need to know your personality type, be authentic, and don’t be phony about who you are.

My personality is aggressive and assertive. When I set my mind to something, I will go out there and do it; I don’t need a lot of time to make decisions. But there are many other personality types! Some people are more laid back, some like to analyze details, some like to be sociable, etc.

Embracing your personality is the key to drawing in like-minded clients. Since I’m assertive and decisive, my clients tend to be like me. People who, for example, like to dig into the numbers and take a long time to decide often clash with assertive people like me, and that’s okay—we are who we are.

The bottom line is you need to know your personality type, be authentic, and don’t be phony about who you are.

Steady Your Mind

The best way to start your career is by shifting your mind.

Introduction

Steady Your Mind. That’s the key to starting a new career. Today, I’ll show you a clip from my recent Mindset: A Business Planning Workshop seminar. As you can see at the beginning of the video, I first tell my class to take out their notebooks and write ‘self-improvement’ and ‘mindset’ at the top of the first page.

Mindset

When you start a new career or attempt to shift, you must have your mind right. In other words, you have to steady your mind. I often discuss this during individual training and one-on-one sessions with my agents. Your mindset is crucial. You have to make a mental shift so that you only focus on your real estate career until you can accelerate past the steep learning curve agents face at the beginning of their careers. If you shift your mindset, you’ll be able to accomplish this.

Whatever your situation is, it starts with shifting your mindset.

Let me use a story from my career as an example of this concept in motion. At one point in my life, I remember being in and out of the hospital regularly for about 10 years. During one such hospital trip, I was lying on one of the beds thinking, “This can’t be my life—to be in and out of hospitals and be sick all the time.” I had graduated from high school and had two beautiful sons by now, but I felt stuck. I couldn’t go forward, only backward.

That day, I made a mental shift and said, “This is not going to be my life. I’m going to change it.” It took a few years, but eventually, my life started going in the direction I dreamt of. I started writing down my goals and saying affirmations every day. I woke up at age 40, and by age 45, I had a real estate career. Now, I’m conducting seminars.

Staying your mind in a world that often feels like it is spinning faster than a carousel is no small feat. Yet, mastering this skill can transform your life, turning chaos into clarity and stress into serenity. Here’s a unique guide to steadying your mind, crafted with insight and practicality.

Embrace the Art of “Single-Tasking”

In an age where multitasking is worn like a badge of honor, dare to single-task. Choose one activity and pour your full attention into it. Whether sipping coffee, reading a book, or working on a project, immerse yourself fully. This practice trains your mind to focus, reducing anxiety and enhancing productivity.

Cultivate Mindful Moments

Mindfulness isn’t just for meditation cushions; it’s for the mundane moments, too. Transform ordinary activities into mindful exercises. Notice the sensation of water on your hands while washing dishes or feel the texture of the pavement under your feet during a walk. These mindful moments can anchor your mind in the present, steadying it amidst life’s storms.

Befriend Silence

Our world is noisy, both outside and inside our heads. Finding pockets of silence can be like discovering an oasis in a desert. Dedicate a few minutes daily to sit in silence. No goals, no expectations, just you and the quiet. This simple practice can help quieten the mental chatter, offering your mind a much-needed break.

Journal Your Journeys

Sometimes, our minds are like overfilled closets—cluttered and chaotic. Journaling can act as a decluttering tool. Regularly jotting down your thoughts, worries, and reflections can help you understand and organize them. This process steadies your mind and brings clarity and insight into your emotions and decisions.

Learn the Language of Letting Go

Holding onto past hurts worries about the future, or even the day’s frustrations can burden your mind. Learning to let go is akin to setting down a heavy bag you’ve been carrying. Practice forgiveness, accept what you cannot change, and focus on the present. This doesn’t mean giving up but freeing your mind from unnecessary weight.

Connect with Nature

Nature has a unique way of soothing the soul and steadying the mind. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a hike in the mountains, or simply sitting by a window and observing the sky, make time to connect with nature. This connection can help recalibrate your inner rhythm to the earth’s natural pace, promoting peace and stability.

By integrating these practices into your daily life, steadying your mind becomes an aspiration and a lived reality. Each step is a simple thread in the tapestry of mental tranquility woven through the fabric of everyday life. Embrace them, and watch as your mind steadies, revealing the clarity, peace, and focus that lies within.

Remember, though—just because I did it a certain way doesn’t mean you’ll be able to do it that way. What’s going to make your life successful is determining your goals and affirmations. Whatever your situation is, it starts with shifting your mindset.
