đź–¤ You Belong, Even If No One Told You

By Deborah Ann Spence

Why I Stopped Shrinking and Started Building Something for Women Like Me

I want to tell you a story.

Not the polished, LinkedIn version.
Not the highlight reel.
But the real one.

Because if you’re anything like me — a woman, a creator, a business owner, a builder, and especially a Black woman trying to find your place in tech or entrepreneurship — you’ve probably asked yourself this too:

“Do I really belong here?”

I’ve asked that question in boardrooms where nobody looked like me.
I’ve asked it at tech trainings where I was the only one taking notes on paper while everyone else built scripts in Python.
I’ve asked it even after winning awards, closing deals, and launching programs — because that voice in your head doesn’t always quiet just because you’re successful.

Then I saw this image.

A Queen. A Black woman. Hair shaped like a crown.
Wrapped in a giant ring that looks both protective and powerful.
Eyes closed, but present. Rested. Sure. Whole.

And something in me clicked.

She reminded me of who I really am — and who I’ve been trying to be this whole time.

Not someone looking for a seat…
Not someone waiting to be picked…
But someone who was born to build the room, choose the people, and write the rules.

I Created The Fierce Formula Because I Needed It

I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon or a Silicon Valley connection.
I built my real estate career from the ground up, started over after being sick for years, and listed 64 homes in my first year. That didn’t happen because I was lucky.
It happened because I had a system, and I was hungry.

But even with all that — I still felt like an outsider in the “tech” world.

All the tools were built for someone else.
All the coaches spoke a language I didn’t speak.
All the rooms felt cold, cliquey, or condescending.

So I said, “Forget it.” I built my own.

That’s how the Fierce Formula was born — not from theory, but from survival.
It’s a real system for real women — especially Black women — who want to learn how to automate, brand, and build from the couch if they have to.

It’s where we show up messy, brilliant, overwhelmed, excited, and ready.

The Truth No One Tells Us About Belonging

Belonging isn’t something you “get” when you’re perfect.
It’s something you claim before you’re ready.

Belonging doesn’t come from certifications or social proof or a perfect Instagram grid.
It comes from knowing, deep down, that your voice is enough. Your ideas are valid. Your presence is powerful.

That Queen in the photo? She didn’t need permission.

And neither do you.

For the Woman Reading This Who Feels Like She’s Behind…

Let me talk to you real quick:

You are not too late.
You are not too old.
You don’t need another degree to take the first step.

You just need community. Tools. A roadmap. And someone who sees you.

I see you. I built this for you.

Whether you’re trying to:

  • Get your first two clients every month
  • Build an online brand that pays you back
  • Learn how to use AI without feeling like a fraud
  • Or finally feel like you’re not the only one in the room…

Come join us.

The Fierce Formula isn’t just coaching.
It’s a home for women who’ve been building alone for way too long.

Final Thought:

That Queen isn’t a fantasy.
She’s a mirror.
And when you finally decide to step into your next level, you’ll realize she’s been you all along.

Let’s stop shrinking.

Let’s stop waiting for belonging to be given to us.

We belong now. As we are.

And we’re not just the Queen of Spades…

We’re the whole damn deck.
